Michael Morpurgo in the City Hall

Recently girls from 4th, 5th and 6th classes went to Cork City Hall to hear author Michael Morpurgo talk about his new books. All the girls ( their parents) and teachers enjoyed hearing Michael tell stories about his books and where he got the ideas behind them.

A busy week.

4th class were very busy this week. We are learning all about procedural writing so this week they put it into practise by baking Tiffin. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

The children from Junior Infants to First Class really enjoyed the pantomime ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ this week. West Midlands Theatre Group put on a great show and we are already looking forward to next year’s show! Have a look at the photos!

Comic Book Strips

5th Class worked with an artist to create comic book strips. Each group of girls had to develop a story based on the theme of Drug Awareness. Members of the Hillgrove Outreach Project helped the girls develop their ideas. 5th Class learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
