The cafe in Aistear
Senior Infants are doing the theme of ‘the cafe’ in Aistear. They made delicious rice krispie buns which they want to sell as part of their role play. Trouble is, the buns were so yummy, they’ve eaten most of the stock! Whoops!
Chinese New Year
The girls in second class have been learning about China and the Chinese New Year this week. They watched videos of the Dragon Dance on the Internet before working together in groups to draw some of the dragons.
Basketball Players
The girls in 5th and 6th classes took part in a friendly basketball tournament this week. They practiced very hard up in Neptune with their teachers and also in the yard during their lunch time. The girls really enjoyed taking part in their first tournament and hope there will be more to follow
CAPER
Caper has started again for the new year in Junior infants, Senior Infants and First classes. The children love when parents come in and read with them on a Wednesday morning
Science- Senior Infants
The children in Senior Infants have been learning about heating and cooling in Science. They got to make orange ice cubes last week and got to taste the ice cubes. They loved this simple lesson!
10@10
The whole school has been doing the 10@10 every day. They’ve been doing fun exercises in their class.
Dentist in Aistear
The Senior Infant classes have been learning about the dentist in Aistear. They did role play last week where they pretended to be receptionists, dentists and patients, which was great fun. As part of their learning, they visited their local dentist at O’Hara’s dental clinic on Shandon Street. They met the staff there and they …
