Special Visitor to Junior Infants.

Junior infants had a special visitor this week when the Community Garda visited them one morning. The children got to ask him some questions. Some children got to try on his cap and coat, while others got to try on his handcuffs. They really enjoyed the visitor.

Pumpkin Carving

Ms. Coleman and some of the parents worked hard this morning to carve some pumpkins. There was some great creativity shown with some wonderful carvings. The pumpkins were then sold at home time with the money going towards the Parent’s Association Fundraising for the year.

Friday Jigsaws

2nd class took a break from learning this Friday afternoon and spent time working together to make some jigsaws. They really enjoyed working together and were so happy when they finished their jigsaws.

Gamelan Music

Some lucky pupils from both 2nd classes have the opportunity to participate in the Gamelan Music programme in Hollyhill Library.  A Gamelan is an Indonesian orchestra made up of percussion instruments. The children enjoyed played the different instruments and look forward to going again next week.

CAPER October

We are delighted to have CAPER (Children and Parents Enjoy Reading) back in the classrooms this year. Parents, Grandparents and other family members are coming into the Senior Infant and 1st classes to read some stories to the children on a Wednesday morning. The children really enjoy listening to the stories being read to them.

Buddy Week

Buddy week was held in the school at the end of September. All the pupils were paired up with pupils from different classes. All the children enjoyed colouring, going for a walk in the garden, yard games, reading and playing games with their new Buddies.
