2nd class enjoyed a trip to Shandon Sweet shop today. They met Danny who makes the sweets. He told them how the sweets are made and the machines to cut and shape the machines. 2nd class then continued onto St. Anne's church Shandon. There they got to ring the bells before going up a lot of steps and looking over the balcony to see the city. The children all had a great time.

Busy in the garden

Ms. Coleman and Ms. Conway have been very busy in the school garden recently. They have had lots of help from all of the classes. Some of the older girls helped painting tyres. We now have some very colourful minnions full of flowers welcoming us into our school everyday as well as some bright colourful flowerbeds in the garden. There is also a new insect hotel for any insects who feel like having a little holiday in North Pres. The younger class helped with all the planting that was done. All the children are looking forward to see what will grow over the next few months.

Science- Volcanoes and Dancing Raisins

2nd class were very busy lately carrying out some science experiments. First they investigated what would have if they put sultanas (or raisins) into water. Afterwards they tried the same experiment using 7up instead of water. Look at the pictures to see what happened. The girls also went making a volcano. They used vinegar and bread soda (and food colouring) and when they mixed together there was a reaction.
