North Pres: A School Of Many Welcomes

School Choir
The school choir took part in the Cor Fheile this week. They sang three songs- “When I grow up” from the musical Matilda, “A Noirin Bheag” and “Isle of Hope”.
Confirmation
Some of the school band are busy practising in preparation for their confirmation, which will be held on the 27th of April.
Credit Union Quiz
Pupils from 6th class made up two teams and took part in the Credit Union table quiz recently. Even though they didn’t win they still enjoyed participating in the quiz.
School Book Fair
The school book fair was held recently in the parents rooms. There was a great choice of books to choose from and all the children got the chance to browse and look at the books before making a choice and buying their favourite one.
Gardening Time
Children from each of the classes helped out in the school garden this week. They dug up all the weeds and got the flower beds ready for this year’s crops. They planted vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and lettuce, herbs and some flowers. The children learned all about how plants grow. The whole school will …
St. Patrick’s Day
Senior Infants did some lovely art to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. They were all ready to go to the parade last Tuesday.
5th Class Authors
5th class girls were budding authors recently when they each wrote a special book for the children in Senior Infants. They asked the children questions, went back to their classroom, wrote the book, illustrated it and published the book. They then went back and had great time reading the book with the Senior Infants.
