Library Visit

Ms. O Brien’s class visited Blackpool library today to hear author Maria Burke talk about her new book, “The Ark of Dun Ruah”. They really enjoyed listening to her and hearing how she got ideas for her books.

CAPER

CAPER started this week. This is when parents come into the school every Wednesday morning and read books with the younger classes. The children really enjoy listening to the adults reading and look forward to it every week

Shared Reading

As part of Friendship week the girls in the older classes read to the children in the younger classes. 2nd class went down to Ms. Healy’s Senior Infants where the children there read book to the 2nd class while afterwards the 2nd class girls read to the senior infants. Junior Infants Bear Hunt.

Junior infants have been reading the story “We’re going on a bear hunt” with their teacher Mr. O Connor and Ms. Coleman. Earlier this week they went on their own bear hunt in the convent garden to see if they could find a bear.

Autumn Trail

First Class went on an Autumn Trail around the convent garden. We saw lots of autumn leaves and collected some for our art work.

Senior Infants’ Autumn Walk

The children in Senior Infants had a lovely walk in the school garden. They were looking for signs that Autumn is here. They gathered leaves and chestnuts. They had a great time! They can’t wait to go for another walk!
