Senior Infants Pottery Workshop

The children in the Senior Infant classes had great fun recently when they took part in a pottery workshop in school. A potter called Ann Burns visited our classes with her own pottery wheel and each child got to create their own clay pot. Ann explained to the children about where the clay they were using came from and how we should look after the pots once they were dry.

Two weeks after Ann’s visit we painted the pots and a week later we glazed the pots with PVA glue to make them shiny. I’m sure you will agree that the pots are beautiful and each child made their own pot from scratch. It was great fun!
