The school was very busy in the run up to the Christmas Holidays. Early Start parents came into their class for Cuddle and Read. Every child in the class went home with a new book for Christmas which they could enjoy with their parents. Ms. Murray and Ms. Coleman held the In it to Win it raffle where a raffle was done in each class and pupils won prizes. The more often they were in school the more raffle tickets they had. Ms. Coleman organised a flower arranging class for the parents to make their Christmas wreaths. She also organised a raffle for the children and families that brought back in their Christmas wishes stars. The two 2nd classes went baking rice crispy cakes with their teachers and Ms. Rooney. They tasted delicious afterwards. The whole school took part in a Christmas Concert in the cathedral which told the Christmas Story.

The final assembly of the school year took place with all the classes gathered in the school yard. 4th class told us some good news from their class, while 6th performed a song and a poem at what was their last assembly in North Pres. Ms. Egan presented the "Spirit of North Pres" award to a child in each class. This award is for a person who shows, caring for others and has a positive attitude in school every day.

There were lots of fun events in the school this week to celebrate World Book Day 2022. The children in Senior Infants made their own books, including text and illustrations! The 2nd and 6th class children went on a trip to Waterstones to spend their World Book Day vouchers. To finish the week off on a high, we had a dress up day on Friday, where children could dress as their favourite fictional character. It was a fantastic finish to the week and we were amazed by all of the wonderful costumes! Well done to all of the parents and guardians who helped out with the costumes. Well done to the all of the teachers who dressed up too! We are looking forward to next year's event already!!
