Mercy Coffee Morning

On Friday 19th October our Parents’ Association organised a coffee morning in aid of the Mercy Hospital’s POONs Service (Paediatric Oncology Outreach Nursing Service). Thanks to the support of our families, friends and school staff €500 was raised for this worthy cause. Thank you to our Parents’ Association and all the parents who volunteered to help out on the day. Thank you too to all the people that supported this event by attending the coffee morning or donating cakes. The NCE Bakery in Farranferris donations included a cake that was raffled and Healy’s Bakery donated a delicious and beautifully presented cake. Well done to everyone for supporting such a worthy cause.

Junior Maths

Our Junior Infant parents have been very busy helping their children with Maths activities. Last week the parents worked with the children in class doing matching activities. This week the children and parents were sorting objects. Next week the children will be ordering and sequencing with their parents. There has been a fantastic turn out of both mums and dads. Mr O'Conor, Ms Lucey and Ms Ahern are really proud of their pupils and delighted with so many parents getting involved.

Buddy Week

Buddy week was held in North Pres last week. Every child from Junior Infants up to 6th class was paired with a buddy in a different class. The staff in the school also buddied up and carried out random acts of kindness to their buddies throughout the week. On Monday the children got to meet their new buddy and while colouring they got to know each other. On Wednesday the buddies enjoyed a walk together in the convent garden. The older girls were very good at pointing out some of the signs of Autumn to their younger buddies. On Friday we had a whole school assembly where there was a few special awards to children who really embraced the spirit of buddy week. The 4th class entertained the school with some upbeat dancing. Later in the day the buddies met up again to do some reading together before releasing some of their energy with dancing.

look at how our garden grows!

Summer is definitely here! Our garden is blooming thanks to Ms.Coleman and Ms.Conway and all the children who have helped them with planting, weeding and decorating the garden. Not only is the garden a lovely place to be, we grow our own herbs, some fruit and vegetables.
